So Nate and I are alone again this weekend. Derrick took some friends from North Carolina to Dubious, WY to fish and to check on the progress of our cabin. Yesterday turned out to be a very busy day with lots of errands to run as well as a trip to Sheridan for a Walmart run. Nate and I got back around his usual bedtime and still had to eat and put groceries away. The house was a mess, not a place to sit at the table, so we just sat down on the floor and shared an Arby's sandwich. Right as we sat down I realized that it was really hot so I thought I'd take Nate's shirt off to cool him down and it was really tight getting it over his head. He was even desperately trying to help me get it off. For some reason that gave us both a bad case of the giggles that would not stop! From there he started being silly, waving to me as he walked away backwards. We were laughing so hard, I had tears in my eyes! And I realized, that it was the first time we laughed together spontaneously as mother and son, as friends. Usually when we laugh one of us is trying to be funny, usually I am trying to make him laugh. Anyways, it was such a sweet moment! One that I will always cherish.
Today Nate and I went to his first parade. He love it in spite of the fact that it went on forever! I think it was an hour long! But he got to see fire trucks and ambulances, horses and cows, big trucks etc. but I had to laugh because the thing he got the most excited and loud about was a guy walking past us on the sidewalk with a dog. You would of thought they were the spotlight feature in the parade. Little did Nate know they weren't even in the parade! So cute.
I'm sorry that I don't have any pictures of us at the parade but as usual I was in a hurry getting out the door and forgot the camera. Oh well.
