A little sunshine

So I've been having a rough week. It started this weekend with a sharp pain in my lower right side. It was very painful and hurt to even walk. I called the Dr. Monday and had an appt Tuesday. They did an ultrasound and they found a cyst on my ovary (which could be nothing to worry about) as well as another lump that he is unsure about. He can feel it just poking on my stomach. (Of course, I can't feel it) So there will be more poking and exams tomorrow... I am actually doing a good job not worrying. At first I let my mind wander to all of the horrible possibilities but I'm just not going to go there. On top of it, I woke up 2 days ago with a terrible sore throat. You know the one that hurts with every swallow? And then...my period started! Cramps! And now there is more stupid crap going on at work with a few "wonderful" (I'm saying that sarcastically if you didn't catch it) employees who think they can do whatever they want. And then...ok I'm done. Now to the good part. Yesterday I decided I needed to get out of the house so Nate and I headed to the coffee shop. Its nice because they have a play area for kids that Nate absolutely loves. When I got there I ran into two girls that I had seen at MOPS last Wednesday. They said that they meet at the coffee shop and let their kids play on the Wednesdays we don't have MOPs and invited me to join them. They were so nice and friendly and we all swapped numbers to get together for "play dates" I was so excited! I am so lonely for girlfriends and after 5 years I was starting to give up on the idea of ever having a friend. I came away reminded that the Lord does care about my every need and He delights in meeting them! Thank you Lord for the little bit of sunshine in my dreary week!

Oh, thank you Lord that you ran into some other moms. I'm so thankful for you! I've felt so bad for you living so "alone". (I mean I know Derrick and Nate are great but you still need girlfriends). I thought about you this morning as I wandered around Target (thanks again for the giftcard!!!). I was thinking of the moments we would escape the campus and homework and just have fun exploring Target. I sure wish Wyoming were closer.....sigh

God is so faithful to bring us friends just when we really need them. I'll be praying for you and your appointments! Love your cousin.

Hey Erica,
I am so sorry for your bad week. I will definitely be praying for you for some much need "mercy". I can so relate to your loneliness. For 14 years I have struggled with no friends. I guess when people know you are a pastor's wife you are no longer eligible for "friend" status, at least that they would want to hang out with. But I guess the Lord is wanting me to depend on Him during this time. Give Nate a hug from us. He is so totally adorable . . .Talk to you soon

Praise the Lord for friendships. I am so glad that you have met some new women and are making connections. This is only the beginning! :) I look forward to hearing more about your new friends. :)
